Cambrian Industrial Services was started 1979 by Mac Gamble and Brian Glass, to fill a need for industrial cleaning in area pulp and paper mills and elevators, in the city of Thunder Bay and surrounding area. Within several months of operation a need for a piece of equipment to clean and vacuum sewers and catch basin arose and the sewer business was started. Cambrian purchased their first Vactor Combination unit and started traveling the district cleaning sewers. Not long after that the first CCTV inspection unit was purchased.
Within a year Brian was gone the name changed, the company has been in the Gamble family ever since. For the next nine years Mac worked building the company into a well-respected service oriented business. In 1988 the company was taken over by Mac's three sons who for the next four years worked hard building the company. In 1992 with a down turn in the forest industry and a parting ways with the brothers Monty Gamble became sole owner and concentrated all his efforts into the sewer business. For the next 17 years Cambrian cleaned and inspected just about every sewer in Northern Ontario, while being the first company in the area to due Hydrovac work long before it was given this name. As well they constantly upgraded equipment and training throughout. In December of 2008 everything came crashing to the ground. A devastating fire destroyed their shop and all there equipment, put with dedicated employees and loyal customers they pushed on and now today are stronger and more dedicated than ever.
